DCIM Specialist - Costa Mesa, CA
We are looking for a DCIM / Building Controls Specialist to support mission critical data centers and to be the POC – Point of Contact for the Company’s customers when they are in need of assistance. The technician is also responsible for monitoring the facility’s Critical Systems, ensuring that any points of failure are recognized and corrected at the earliest possible moment. The Technician will be responsible for monitoring compliance with contractual commitments, directing technical and administrative tasks related to the operation of the critical facility infrastructure and assuring compliance with company's policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Planning, layouts and installation of rack / stack, raceways, structured cabling and cable management
Analyses and reports on the data center infrastructure, supports project plans, track equipment inventory, etc
Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Controls BMS/BAS and DCIM Implementation
PM / Monitor on a variety of state of the art critical systems, including but not limited to mechanical heat rejection systems, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems ( SCADA , CMMS ), Critical Power Systems: (medium voltage switchgear, paralleling switchboards, UPS, PDU, etc)
Build cage solutions based on the customers requested footprint
DC Power Installation / Cabling and terminating cross connects across various mediums. Cross Connect installations / Home Run Cabling (Single and Multi Mode Fiber, Coax and Cat5)
Familiarity with physically racking (Rack and Stack) and cabling a variety of servers, switches and power distribution units (rack PDUs) in a production environment
In-depth knowledge of datacenter infrastructure, structured cabling, power and cooling systems, and modern DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Systems) and skills to implement, manage and administer these systems
Requirements:
5-10 years of relevant experience with mechanical, telecommunications and electrical equipment such as: cable infrastructure, chillers, Air handling units, computer grade cooling systems, CRAC units, DC Power Systems, Fire Systems, Generators,
5-10 years + / Extensive programming of PLC for BMS / BCS Systems (Building monitoring systems / building control systems - EPMS, SCADA, Cimplicity, ALC , Metasys)
Client Facing /Client relationship / Client Management skills. Effective Communicator – emails, phone and face to face
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Must be a self starter, proactive, flexible, and able to work within and meet deadlines
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Computer Savvy - Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access and Microsoft Outlook
Degree in IT, Computer Science or Engineering. Licenses, certifications, and/or 5-10 years experience in related fields considered
Will also consider any relevant education / certifications / technical schools – eg: HVAC License, HVAC Training Course, Stationary Engineer License, Military Experience ( Navy Nukes)
CDCP or CDCS certification is a big plus
Network Experience a plus – CCNA / MCSA a plus
