Project Manager - Data Center Colo

This opportunity is with a leading mission-critical data center developer / wholesaler / colo provider.  This firm provides data center solutions custom-fit to the requirements of their client's mission-critical operational facilities. They provide reliability of mission-critical facilities for many of the world's largest organizations.
 
Project Manager - Data Center Colo - Rack /Stack / Cabling
 
Our client is looking for a Colocation PM to join their team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for implementing engineering designs to install customer colocation products and services - cabinets, cages, power, backbone communication cables & panels.. They will manage the install team, track budgets & report, identify and resolve issues to ensure on time, on budget and accurate completion of projects. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Project Manage our clients server room installations to include: cabinets, racks, power strips, connectivity, structured cabling, telecom and network deployment
  • Manage project to ensure that all metrics are met. On-time, and on-budget tracking are critical company measurements for customer deliveries
  • Maintain liaison with primary client, A/E firm and other vendors to facilitate construction activities.
  • Preliminary design, presentation and evaluation of customer solutions
  • Advise on equipment selection that meets customer specifications standards and that of our company
  • Work with Facility Operations and Capacity Planning teams to determine sellable space and power at colocation sites
  • Ensure clean hand off of completed work to Operations and Customer
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field preferred
  • Project management experience, preferably in the telecommunications / data center industry
  • Data Center white space planning and design experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Data Center infrastructure - Power, Cooling, Structured Cabling Background – cabinets, racks, power strips, connectivity, structured cabling, telecom network deployment
  • Experience managing capital projects > $250K
  • Must be able to understand and read construction documents
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively respond, verbally or in writing, to sensitive issues, complex inquiries or complaints
  • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented and able to manage multiple  design construction schedules
  • Travel is a requirement - Must have current US drivers license and passport
