Sales Engineer - Data Center - Ashburn, VA This position is also available in: Atlanta GA, Dallas, TX and Chicago IL
Our client is looking for a Data Center Solutions Sales Engineer to join their team. They will support data centers nationwide while serving as the subject matter expert on all data center products, services and solutions. Ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the Mission Critical Data Center / Facilities Marketplace.
Responsibilities:
Plan, organize and manage proposals, technical information, orders and customer communications for our data center clients and their customers.
Participate in contract and price negotiations with customers. Manage contract terms and pricing to achieve the division’s sales plan
Review RFQ information and collaborate with customers, vendors and internal departments to prepare quotations that include specification compliance, pricing, Bill of Materials, cost of ownership documentation, drawings, scope of works and procedures
Independently represent the company in technical meetings, site walk-throughs, trade-shows and industry conferences to promote our companies design/build and technical services.
Track and communicate project status, technical requirements and customer information and work with internal departments to evaluate and mitigate order costs
Oversee factory witness tests, create and manage agenda, and perform lead role in customer communication
Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with existing business partners in hopes to generate additional business.
Requirements:
BA / BS in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineeringor equivalent education and experience
7 years of experience with applications engineering and/or outside technical sales experience in mechanical cooling and electrical systems or building controls systems
A team player able to build cooperative relationships with individuals who are part of the business development process
Experience with RFP and RFI process
Experience creating presentations using PowerPoint
Experience putting together technical presentations and act as the technical resource during the Sales process
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
Background in design, build and operations of data centers a huge plus
BICSI / RCDD / PE or related certifications a huge plus
Belong to local professional organizations
